This collection brings together two photographic-documentary projects that trace my journey as a footballer and the evolution of women’s football in Colombia. Through images and memories, I explore two pivotal stages: my early experience playing in the renowned Football Cup organized by Difutbol (DIFUTBOL) with the Inter Excolcar team, and my leap into professional football with Unión Magdalena in the country’s inaugural Women’s Professional League.

Beyond the matches and victories, the photographs reveal the cultural and historical heartbeat of the sport: how tournaments organized by Difutbol opened spaces for women to pursue their passion, and how the professional league in 2017 became a turning point, offering visibility, recognition, and real opportunities. Difutbol, the Amateur Division of Colombian Football, has played a crucial role in structuring and supporting football at the club level, allowing players to grow, compete, and shine on a national stage.

This series captures my time with Inter Excolcar, from Barranquilla, competing in the Football Cup organized by Difutbol. The images evoke modest training sessions, intense matches, and the camaraderie forged on the field—the dedication and passion of players chasing their dreams in spaces that were only beginning to recognize women’s football. These tournaments were more than competitions; they were stepping stones toward something much larger.

The second series tells the story of my transition into professional football with Unión Magdalena during the debut season of the Colombian Women’s Professional League in 2017. It was a thrilling leap into structured training, official stadiums, regional representation, and a pioneering chapter for women’s football in Colombia. The photographs capture the intensity of the matches, the energy of the fans, and the sense of being part of a movement that opened doors for countless players who would follow.
