I am Paula Pastrana, a documentary photographer and visual storyteller born in Colombia and currently living in the United States. My work stems from an intimate gaze at the living memory of the body, migrant and queer identities, and the emotions embedded in everyday spaces. From a young age, photography has been my way to understand and connect with the world; each project is an emotional archive documenting lives, experiences, and sensations beyond the visible.
I am an avid traveler, always ready for new adventures, often accompanied only by my curiosity and my camera. Behind the lens, I feel invincible and limitless, able to capture the deepest essence of those I photograph. My practice focuses on intimacy and authenticity: I seek to reveal untold stories, sincere gestures, and moments that reflect resilience and the poetry of life. Each project serves as a bridge between individual and collective experience, where memory, body, and identity converge, creating a space for viewers to feel, reflect, and connect with the human experience. For me, photography is a ritual and careful act, turning every image into a lasting visual testimony.
