Breaking the frame

This project reflects a deeply personal chapter of my life, exploring my position and feelings around my sexuality during a pivotal time. I am a lesbian, and when I created this series, my parents were struggling to accept my relationship. My girlfriend at the time and I navigated love, identity, and family tensions, slowly transforming what began as conflict into understanding—and ultimately into an enduring, infinite friendship.

The photographs portray her and me as small figures within a universe where my parents appear larger-than-life, magnifying the emotional gravity of the moment. Through this visual metaphor, I capture the weight of familial expectation, the intensity of love and resistance, and the fragile, courageous space we occupied as we claimed our own identities.

This series is both intimate and universal: a meditation on growth, love, acceptance, and the parallel worlds we navigate as we define ourselves. It celebrates resilience, the beauty of enduring bonds, and the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength.
